About me
I am a North Yorkshire potter who lives in a little village called Gristhorpe near Filey. I have always enjoyed art and recently have taken up pottery specialising in hares and foxes.
I work from home, an old farmhouse, which backs onto fields and plenty of wildlife. I am self taught and have been inspired by the countryside around me. Often taking my border terriers on long walks. I research and observe the hares to try and capture their characteristics.
I use a variety of different clays, glazes and oxides to produce the individual hand built ceramic hare sculptures. I spend a lot of time on my sculptures trying to convey their unique and quirky personalities. Each piece is a one off sculpture and varies in colour, texture and design.
